The solution includes a pillar jib crane, a pneumatic balancer and a pneumatic inner gripper which is the perfect load suspension device for picking up the spools: the inner gripper is inserted into the wound fiberglass. Because its pneumatic ism enlarges the gripper, the spool can be lifted safely. Moreover, the gripper has got a special coat to ensure that the fiberglass never falls down accidentally.

The pneumatic inner gripper compensates the differences regarding diverse spool diameters

One of the striking advantages of this load suspension device is the fact that it is compensating derivations of different spool diameters. The pneumatic inner gripper allows differences of up to 5 centimeters regarding the diameter. Once the gripper has reached its full expansion, the balancer is set automatically to the handling mode. Then the fiberglass spool can be lifted, and the balancer enables the operator to shift and drop the spool effortlessly. Finally, the pneumatic pressure within the inner gripper is released, so that it can be removed from the spool to handle the next one. Furthermore, the crane system to which the balancer as well as the pneumatic inner gripper are attached is equipped with a mobile base plate. Therefore a forklift can shift the whole handling system easily.
