If objects have to be transported over a limited distance, the mobile lifting aid ezzLIFTmaster is suitable. The advantages are striking: easy handling, safe pick-up and placement of the goods, and good maneuverability. Versatile accessories and customized solutions make it an attractive support for many operations. Even in confined spaces, it is easy to move thanks to its four swivel castors and features a quick-change coupling.
The lifting aid performs a wide range of handling tasks: up/down, reach/release, swivel, tilt, free programming of different positions and customized pick-up and handling functions.

Different tools are used on a machine tool. These are stored in a rack and have to be transported from there to the machine. There, the tools are always inserted at the same position. At the end of the process, the tool is removed from the machine and stored.
Handling objective: The different tools are highly sensitive. Jerking during lifting, hard setting down or bumping would lead to damage. The tools are identified in the storage rack by their location, additionally they should be identified during handling.
Placing the tool in the machine
The ezzLIFTmaster is pushed to the storage rack by hand. There, the storage position is entered on the control panel. By pressing a button, the load pick-up of the ezzLIFTmaster moves to below the counterpart on the tool. By pressing the button again, the load receptacle slowly moves further upwards, then the load receptacle engages and lifts the tool slightly. The tool is removed from the rack and moved to the machine. There, two devices that ensure the correct transfer of the mold exist: First, the carriage is pushed into a machine-side lock and automatically engages there. Then the mold slide of the machine is moved into the transfer position. The transfer position is selected on the control panel. By pressing the button, the load receptor moves directly over the transfer position. When the button is pressed again, the tool is slowly lowered and released. Finally, the ezzLIFTmaster is unlocked and pushed into its parking position or used for the next process.
Removing and storing the mold
Basically, the processes of insertion and storage are similar. However, some parameters change during storage, e.g. the load receptor must start above the rack position instead of below when depositing. This is signaled to the control system by electronically detecting the tool from the load receptor.
Tool recognition
The recognition of the tool can also be used for identification. For this purpose, the tool identification is forwarded to the machine, where it is checked for compatibility by the machine control system.
For processes like these with higher cycle times, it makes sense to automate the process.
